Andy Murray will present "WMU Hockey" at 8 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, in the Dean's Conference Room of Schneider Hall. Murray is the first speaker in the 2013-14 Keystone Community Bank Breakfast Speaker Series.

Fall 2013 enrollment figures show a 5.1 percent increase in the number of new freshmen and increases in the number of both international students and graduate students seeking doctoral degrees, with a total enrollment of 24,294.

Lynda S. Blair, a process associate in Human Resources at WMU, died July 26 at age 47 while on leave from the University. She had been working at the University for eight years.

Through geologic data housed at WMU's ¾ÅÒ»Â鶹ÖÆƬ³§ Geological Repository for Research and Education, a large, high-grade deposit of potash has been rediscovered. Potash is a mineral that is critical to the agriculture industry.

Ruth A. Mulder, a retired duplicating operator in WMU's Printing Services, died Saturday, July 20 at age 88. She had worked at the University from 1965 to 1987.

The Kalamazoo Film Society will present the film "Before Midnight" Friday through Sunday, Sept. 13-15, at WMU's Little Theatre. The film is rated R; admission is $5.

A renowned jazz trio featuring a School of Music assistant professor of saxophone and jazz studies will celebrate the release of its latest CD at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, in the Dalton Center Lecture Hall.
