University Symphony Orchestra gives "Broadway Pops" concert

The University Symphony Orchestra will present "Broadway Pops" at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 29, in the Dalton Center Recital Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.

Peter and the Starcatcher comes to Miller Auditorium

The Tony Award-winning musical, based on the bestselling novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, will be at Miller Auditorium for a limited engagement at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 29.

Gibbs Fellowship application deadline approaching

Applications to become Gibbs House Fellows, who are paid to research and work on campus sustainability projects and policies while living in the historic Gibbs House on Parkview Avenue, are due March 30.

 

Campus community, area senior citizens preparing for prom night

This year's prom will be held Thursday, April 2, in the Bernhard Center East Ballroom. Pre-entertainment begins at 5 p.m., and the dance runs from 7 to 10 p.m. Reservations are not required.

Campus blood drive challenge underway

A blood drive is scheduled for noon to 8 p.m., Thursday, April 2, at the Student Recreation Center. The challenge, which pits WMU against CMU, runs through Friday, April 3.

Fine arts students present original work

Three fine arts students will perform "Who Killed Mr. Mason?," a collaboration between the School of Music and Department of Dance, at 8 p.m. Friday, March 27, and 2 p.m. Sunday, March 29.

WMU equestrian team wins first-ever collegiate regional title

The team bested the University of ¾ÅÒ»Â鶹ÖÆƬ³§ to win the first regional title in its 22-year history. Eight riders will move on to the zone championship March 28  at Morehead State University.

Report details progress to date in strategic plan's 3rd year

The Mid-year Report, posted online for the third year of the WMU Strategic Plan, finds that the University has embraced strategic planning and is becoming more mature in integrating it into the institutional culture.

WMU trustees to consider move to issue new bond series

The Board of Trustees will meet in formal session at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, in 157-159 Bernhard Center. The board also will be asked to approve personnel moves and changes to academic programs.

Western Student Association elections approaching

Students will choose a new president and vice president for the WSA as well as weigh in on a Student Assessment Fee ballot referendum. Voting will be open March 23-27.
