Brittany Nicole (Wallace) Shank
Her Disappearance
On November 30, 2018, Brittany Shank, 23, was last seen around 9:00 PM after crashing her vehicle in a ditch near Fawn River Road in Sturgis, ¾ÅÒ»Â鶹ÖÆƬ³§. Earlier that night, she was last seen by family with an unknown male who is described as being 5’6 to 5’8 tall, in his early to mid-twenties, short blonde hair, and mutton-chop sideburns. Shortly after crashing, Brittany Shank called 911 at a nearby residence. After connecting with 911, she fled and was last seen by another individual from a window. This is the last known location of Brittany Shank.
The Victim
Brittany was 5’1 and 110 pounds with hazel eyes and dark hair. She was last seen wearing blue jeans, a white tank top, green colored coat and no shoes.
How the WMU Cold Case Program aided in the investigation
The Western ¾ÅÒ»Â鶹ÖÆƬ³§ University Cold Case Program with ¾ÅÒ»Â鶹ÖÆƬ³§ State Police student investigators dedicated hundreds of hours organizing the case file, digitizing it and analyzing various aspects of the case file for detectives. During their case analysis, student investigators conducted extensive research ranging from indexing people of interest, timelines and assisting detectives from St. Joseph County Sherrif’s office and ¾ÅÒ»Â鶹ÖÆƬ³§ State Police.
