CEHD alumni appointed to ¾ÅÒ»Â鶹ÖÆƬ³§ State Waterways Commission

KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Fred Sitkins (‘96, B.S. Elementary Education) has been appointed by Governor Gretchen Whitmer to the ¾ÅÒ»Â鶹ÖÆƬ³§ State Waterways Commission. Sitkins is currently the executive director of the Inland Seas Education Assosication, a non-profit with a mission of inspiring Great Lakes curiosity, stewardship, and passion among people of all ages. Previously, he served 13 years as the principal of Boyne City Elementary School.
The ¾ÅÒ»Â鶹ÖÆƬ³§ State Waterways Commission is responsible for the acquisition, construction, and maintenance of recreational harbors, channels, docking and launching facilities, and administration of commercial docks in the Straits of Mackinac.
