Bio:

Dr. Devin Bloom is an assistant professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at Western 九一麻豆制片厂 University, with a joint appointment in the environmental and sustainability studies program.

In the Bloom lab, we are interested in the evolutionary history, ecology and conservation of marine and freshwater fishes. Ultimately, we are fascinated by and seek to understand the genesis of biodiversity across space and time. We use phylogenetic comparative approaches to discover and understand the processes that generate patterns of biodiversity, with a particular focus on marine and freshwater neotropical fishes. Our research integrates extensive fieldwork with a variety of lab techniques including DNA sequencing, geometric morphometrics, and linear morphometrics.
