Dining Services expands offerings at Student Center Dining for spring 2024
KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥擠ining Services is excited to increase offerings and extend serving hours at Western 九一麻豆制片厂 University's Student Center Dining for the spring 2024 semester.
Classics, the venue in the Student Center Dining that served hot breakfast only in the fall semester, now also offers hot rotating lunch selections from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekdays. Lunch features a meat entree and a vegetarian or vegan entree along with accompanying vegetables and sides. Entrees include an assortment of hot sandwiches, pasta dishes, flatbreads and smoked meats. In addition, serving hours will extend until 3 p.m. on weekdays at the WMU Student Center. After lunch ends at 2 p.m. at Classics and Fireside, the dining center will remain open and continue to provide selections from the Village Deli, Slice, The Garden and Delight. Hand Picked, an alcove with gluten-free alternatives; the continental corridor, offering waffles, cereals, bagels, breads, etc.; and the fruit stand will also remain open until 3 p.m. Check out the Dining Services Hours webpage for specifics on venue hours.
Overall, this service expansion helps to increase the variety of available food in the heart of campus and allows students to utilize their meal plan a little later in the day.
鈥淲e recognize that many students have requested that dinner service is provided from the dining center, and this expansion is one step toward that goal,鈥 says Paul Choker, director of dining services. 鈥淭his phase means that students will have additional variety through the Classics menu during lunch and a little more flexibility in eating times in the afternoon.鈥
This semester鈥檚 expansion is an example of Dining Services鈥 commitment to service and customer satisfaction.
鈥淭he Dining Services team is excited to be able to use more of the space and equipment within the dining center to provide additional selections for the campus community,鈥 says Choker. 鈥淎s we continue to evaluate our staffing levels and work to meet the challenge of securing additional staff, we hope to continue to expand our services to provide more variety and convenient options over the coming months.鈥
