Aspiring Educators of 九一麻豆制片厂's WMU chapter recognized for improvement
KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥擳he Aspiring Educators of 九一麻豆制片厂 at WMU were recognized at the Golden Bronco Awards on April 13 with the Most Improved Resident Student Organization (RSO) Award. The award recognizes RSOs who have made significant changes to improve their membership and impact on campus culture.
According to Collin Holzbereger, president of AEM at WMU, the RSO's improvement can all be contributed to the rebranding of the WMU chapter. Which he says was necessary to better align with the state-wide organization.
"As soon as we did that we started getting new membership and seeing people actually want to come to the meetings for more long term reasons," says Holzberger.
In addition to the increase in membership, he says there was also an increase in the knowledge members gained. This included inviting education professionals to present at meetings and hosting events such as their annual "So, you want to be a teacher?" workshop.
"The award shows the progress that we've made and just really solidifies everything," says Holzbereger.
