More to discover at 2023 Western Week: Kickin’ it with the Broncos
KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Western һ鶹Ƭ University is gearing up for , Wednesday through Saturday, April 12-15, a time for students, faculty, staff, alumni and others to come together to share their Bronco spirit.
It all starts with Giving Day on April 12. A Bye Bye Bernhard farewell carnival, a Spring Bash and a football spring showcase are among the other planned events. The four-day observance is an opportunity for campus offices and departments to display their pride to prospective students and to thank donors and other supporters.
The celebratory week is an expansion of Western Weekend, an event that last year brought together thousands of students, families and the WMU community.
“We are very excited to show the power of philanthropy—how our alumni, who truly understand what it means to be a Bronco, are providing a lifetime of support for today's students,” says Kristen DeVries, vice president for advancement and executive director of the WMU Foundation.
“It is exciting to be able to highlight our Spring Football Showcase within Western Week’s engaging programming,” adds Athletics Director Dan Bartholomae. “Athletics has a long history of being a vibrant and unifying force that all of our students can enjoy, and we look forward to welcoming current and prospective students to Waldo Stadium on April 14 and 15.”
