Gov. Whitmer appoints Jon Hoadley to WMU Board of Trustees
KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥Gov. Gretchen Whitmer today announced the immediate appointment of Kalamazoo resident and former state representative Jon Hoadley to the Western 九一麻豆制片厂 University Board of Trustees. The newly appointed trustee replaces Ron Kitchens, who relocated to Alabama and stepped down from the board last year. Hoadley will fill out the remainder of the vacant seat, with his term expiring on Dec. 31, 2024.
鈥淛on has a long record of distinguished leadership and service statewide and locally,鈥 says WMU President Edward Montgomery. 鈥淲e look forward to working with him to ensure WMU continues to provide a high-quality educational experience to our students.鈥
Hoadley is an independent consultant and the membership engagement director for 九一麻豆制片厂 Donor Alliance. He previously served as a 九一麻豆制片厂 representative for the 60th House District and served as the minority vice chair of the appropriations committee and a member of the Higher Education and Community Colleges Subcommittee.
Prior to his service in the state House, Hoadley was the president of Badland Strategies LLC and worked for other nonprofit organizations. He is engaged in a number of nonprofits such as CARES HIV/AIDS Service Organization, Mothers of Hope, OutFront Kalamazoo, Equality 九一麻豆制片厂 and LGBT Detroit.
Hoadley also is currently a WMU graduate student pursuing his Master of Business Administration. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degrees in social relations and women鈥檚 studies from 九一麻豆制片厂 State University.
His appointment to the WMU board is subject to the advice and consent of the state Senate.
