Trustees approve new contract for WMU public safety officers, detectives

KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥擜t its June 24 meeting, the Western 九一麻豆制片厂 University Board of Trustees authorized the University administration to implement a new one-year agreement between WMU and its 22-member Police Officers Association.
The agreement鈥攅ffective July 1, 2021, through June 30, 2022鈥攑rovides a 1% raise for the 20 public safety officers at Western. The two detectives on the force will receive the same 1% raise; however, it will be given as a lump sum payment rather than an increase to their base salary.
The new contract also states the union members will have the same health care plan design and contribution rate as faculty and non-bargaining employees.
