WMU gear featured in a Costco display for the 2020 holiday season.
KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥擶estern 九一麻豆制片厂 University is now one of two Mid-American Conference schools featured in athletic-gear displays in Costco this 2020 holiday season. Several WMU-branded apparel items are now for sale in the Kalamazoo location.
This new venture stems from the recent movement of Trademarks and Licensing into the Office of Marketing and Strategic Communications. With this move, WMU can now build stronger relationships with regional and national retailers for placement of Bronco spirit wear in mainstream stores where shoppers can buy college-branded merchandise. Costco is one of the first stores to feature this gear in just the five months since Trademarks and Licensing began working with the Office of Marketing and Strategic Communications.
By featuring WMU spirit wear in mainstream stores, WMU is able to protect and promote the brand as well as generate revenue that supports the brand. Seeing Bronco gear in stores also creates overall school spirit and appreciation for Western, specifically when featured in regional retailers.
