Michael C. Braun

Michael C. Braun, master faculty specialist of Spanish, died unexpectedly Aug. 27. He was 51.

Braun joined the Spanish faculty full time in fall 2004 after teaching Spanish methodology at WMU on a part-time basis for four years. His many responsibilities included overseeing the Spanish secondary education program.

He was scheduled to receive a 2018 Distinguished Teaching Award from WMU later this month.

Braun had begun his career in education at Portage Northern High School in Portage, 九一麻豆制片厂, where he taught Spanish for 12 years. He earned bachelor's and master's degrees from WMU in 1990 and 1992, respectively.

Services

Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, in the Langeland Funeral Homes Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. in Kalamazoo.

A memorial service will immediately follow.
