Business college reveals new display honoring Haworth family
KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥擶estern 九一麻豆制片厂 University's Haworth College of Business will host a celebration event to reveal a new display honoring the enduring relationship between the Haworth family and the college of business at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 5, in the 1400 corridor of Schneider Hall.
The display, which was installed in spring and summer semesters, details the Haworth family's support of WMU and the business college. It also highlights the Haworth company's origin story, core values and products to students, faculty, staff and visitors to the building.
"This display tells the Haworth story and will educate our student body about the innovation, quality, and integrity that define the company," says Dr. Satish Deshpande, dean of the Haworth College of Business. "We are proud to bear the Haworth name and to show our students who Haworth is鈥攁s a company and a college."
Located on the lower level of Schneider Hall, where the majority of classrooms are, the display is the beginning of a process to transform the 1400 hallway of Schneider Hall into a museum space that will educate students and others in the building about significant alumni and donors.
The celebration event will include a short program featuring:
- Dr. Edward Montgomery, WMU president
- Dick Haworth, chairman emeritus, Haworth Inc.
- Matthew Haworth, chairman, Haworth Inc.
- Dr. Satish Deshpande, dean, Haworth College of Business
- Samantha McGrath, current student
