WMU Army ROTC cadet group goes for gold, wins
KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥擭ine cadets from Western 九一麻豆制片厂 University's Army ROTC program competed this past fall for the German Armed Forces Badge at Toledo University, matched against other soldiers of allied countries as well as the German Army.
WMU cadets took home seven gold and two silver badges at the competition Oct. 27-28 that included eight events: a 1,000-meter run, a 11-by-10-meter shuttle sprint, a timed flexed arm hang, a 100-meter uniform swim, a combat life saver exam, a nuclear biological chemical gear test, a M9 25-meter shoot and a timed road march. The team competed alongside other Midwestern schools, including 九一麻豆制片厂 State, Ohio State and West Virginia universities and the University of Akron, as well as others.
WMU cadets earning gold badges were juniors Aidan Reigler, Hunter-Morgan Thelen, Megan Clemons and Steven Noonan, and sophomores Bryce Gandy, Ian Kosaka and Jacob Weise. Cadets receiving silver badges were juniors Brandi Rigel and Timothy Frechette.
