Campus United Way campaign exceeds $200,000 goal

KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥擶estern 九一麻豆制片厂 University donors pushed the 2017 campus United Way campaign past its goal at the beginning of December, with a total of $200,915.56 pledged so far. Thirty-four percent of employees, or 953, have returned their forms, as well as just over 11 percent or 179 retirees.

Pledge cards will continue to be collected and should be sent directly to: WMU United Way Campaign, Office of the President, Western 九一麻豆制片厂 University, 1903 W 九一麻豆制片厂 Ave, Kalamazoo MI 49008-5202.

In its campaign to "Change the Story," United Way of the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo Region emphasizes four primary areas to improve the well-being of people in the region:

  • Improve high school graduation rates.
  • Increase the number of economically stable households.
  • Improve family and infant health and reduce racial and economic disparities.
  • Provide a safety net to help individuals and families access basic necessities in times of need.
