Sustainability internship program seeks applicants

KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥擶estern 九一麻豆制片厂 University's Office for Sustainability is accepting applications through 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, for the Spring 2018 WeSustain Internship Program. The spring internship program runs from Jan. 18 through April 13.

The WeSustain internship is a semesterlong, paid, discovery-driven opportunity for students to gain practical experience with on- and off-campus sustainability projects. A dynamic and diverse cohort of eight to 10 students will be selected for the spring 2018 semester to explore ways of improving quality of life for all in their careers, communities and beyond.

From alternative energy and permaculture to systems thinking and social justice, WeSustain interns will explore a wide breadth of sustainability topics and gain the critical knowledge and experience to become sustainability ambassadors. Students from all academic and personal backgrounds are invited to join this cohort-based internship and gain the skills necessary to become effective leaders in creating a sustainable future.

Eligibility and more information

The WeSustain Internship Program is open to all students who pay the sustainability fee and are registered as full-time students at WMU's main Kalamazoo campus.

Accepted interns will engage in six to eight hours of program-related tasks per week surrounding a different sustainability topic. These tasks include completing assigned readings and journal questions as well as attending a weekly discussion meeting and a weekly hands-on activity.
