First-year electronic business marketing student to represent WMU at national summit
KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥擜 first-year student interested in studying electronic business marketing will represent Western 九一麻豆制片厂 University at a national marketing summit this summer.
Alison Schram, of White Lake, was selected to attend the marketing EDGE Collegiate Summit in New York City in June. The summit connects students with some of the industry's top professionals in marketing who represent how companies and brands are creating state-of-the-industry, targeted, multichannel campaigns using digital, data-driven strategies.
'Inside scoop'
"By attending this summit, Alison will get the inside scoop on why the electronic business marketing major is so relevant in today's marketplace and what careers are available to her post-graduation," says Dr. JoAnn Atkin, WMU associate professor of marketing.
Schram understands the impact she can have representing the University at the summit. "I'll be at the summit representing WMU and the college, and even though I'm a first-year student, I plan to wow the other attendees with everything I've learned from my first year here at the Haworth College of Business."
Only a select group of students from across the country are chosen to attend. They need a GPA of 3.0 or higher and must be enrolled at an accredited four-year university. Students must self-identify and apply to be considered.
"Alison stood out because she is only a first-year student and is already looking for these types of opportunities to learn and grow personally and professionally," says Atkin. "She is obviously driven and motivated to get the most out of her time here at WMU."
