WMU Trombone Choir schedules its annual spring concert

KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥擳he Western 九一麻豆制片厂 University Trombone Choir will perform its annual spring concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 2, in the University鈥檚 Dalton Center Recital Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

This year鈥檚 concert will feature a commission by composer Benjamin Taylor, plus several works for trombone choir and percussion. The soloist will be Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra principal trombonist Edward 鈥淜ip鈥 Hickman.

Trombone Choir

The group includes many award-winning students from the trombone studio at WMU, including several recognized by the highly-competitive International Trombone Association solo competitions.

The WMU Trombone Choir has been recognized for its excellence in performance on multiple occasions. The ensemble recently received an invitation to perform a full-length concert at the U.S. Army Band鈥檚 American Trombone Workshop, which will be held in Washington, D.C., in March 2018.
