¾ÅÒ»Â鶹ÖÆƬ³§ native offers free piano recital

KALAMAZOO, Mich.—¾ÅÒ»Â鶹ÖÆƬ³§ native Christopher Atzinger will give a free piano recital at 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, in the Dalton Center Recital Hall at Western ¾ÅÒ»Â鶹ÖÆƬ³§ University.

The program will include works by Mozart, Brahms, Barber, John Knowles Paine and Pierre Jalbert.

A piano professor at St. Olaf College, Atzinger received a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Austin, a master's from the University of ¾ÅÒ»Â鶹ÖÆƬ³§ and a D.M.A. from the Peabody Conservatory at Johns Hopkins University. He enjoys an international performing career as a soloist and chamber musician in addition to his academic position. Gramaphone lauded his "abundant energy, powerful fingers, big sound and natural musicality."
