WMU Symphony Orchestra presents 'The Dance'

KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥擳he Western 九一麻豆制片厂 University Symphony Orchestra will present a light classical concert, titled "The Dance," at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 3, in the Dalton Center Recital Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

The concert will feature music that celebrates the element of dance in music. Darren Chan, a WMU graduate assistant, will conduct "Hoe Down" from Aaron Copland鈥檚 ballet "Rodeo." "Peer Gynt Suite No. 1," by Edvard Grieg, features the composer鈥檚 most famous music: "Antira鈥檚 Dance" and "In the Hall of the Mountain King." The program also includes "Two Slavonic Dances" by Antonin Dvorak and "Capriccio Espagnol" by the Russian master Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov.
