WMU choirs to present choral showcase
KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥擳hree Western 九一麻豆制片厂 University choirs will present a winter choral showcase at 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, in the Dalton Center Recital Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
Collegiate Singers鈥 performance will include choral treasures such as Bruckner鈥檚 "Locus Iste," Finzi鈥檚 "My Spirit Sang All Day," and DeCormier鈥檚 arrangement of the spiritual "Let Me Fly." The set will also include two pieces for men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 choruses.
Cantus Femina鈥檚 set, titled "Relationships," explores diverse connections within the human experience and features works by Macdonald, Forsythe, and WMU alumnus Sam Alhadid, among others.
University Chorale鈥檚 set, "Height and Depth,鈥 illustrates the symbolic and literal distances represented within music. The set will include works by Brahms, Finney, Hogan, Runestad, Howells and Gregorio.
