Horn Day 2016 to feature horn superstar Jeff Nelsen
KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥擜cclaimed horn player Jeff Nelsen will headline the 2016 Horn Day festival at Western 九一麻豆制片厂 University. He will perform during the final concert at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, in the Dalton Center Recital Hall. The final concert is free and open to the public; the participation fee for Horn Day is $20.

Nelsen may be best known for his eight years spent touring and recording with the Canadian Brass. He has also performed concerti and chamber music on six continents and in the horn sections of dozens of orchestras, including the New York and Los Angeles philharmonics, and the Boston, Chicago, Cincinnati, Montreal and Saint Louis symphonies. Nelsen is a professor of horn at Indiana University鈥檚 Jacobs School of Music and founder of Fearless Performance LLC, a company that focuses on training musicians to consistently perform their best.
Horn Day
Horn Day is an annual festival that is open to anyone interested in learning more about the horn. This fun-filled event includes an entire day of horn activities, including a guest artist master class and recital, a solo competition for middle and high school participants, a recital by the WMU Horn Choir and WMU student soloists, and a chance for all participants to play in chamber ensembles and the Mass Horn Choir, which rehearses during the day and performs in the 6:30 p.m. final concert.
