Paper tech meeting to highlight 100 percent job placement, starting salaries

KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥擳he Paper Technology Foundation's 56th annual meeting this month will draw top industry executives from across the country to Kalamazoo, showcase a 100 percent job placement rate for recent paper engineering graduates and celebrate the payout of over $200,000 in scholarships.

A full slate of activities is planned for the annual meeting Thursday, Oct. 22, in the Fetzer Center on Western 九一麻豆制片厂 University's campus. The foundation will recognize 2015-16 scholarship recipients at a dinner banquet, along with graduating seniors.

Keynote address

During the banquet, guests will be entertained by a premier WMU School of Music student ensemble and will hear a keynote address by Michael P. Doss, a 1989 and 1991 WMU alum and president and chief operating officer of Graphic Packaging Holding Co. Graphic Packaging Holding Co., headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, is a leader in the packaging industry, serving hundreds of the world's most recognized brands.

Other events during the day include a student-industry mentoring session, the foundation's committee meetings, and the PTF Board of Trustees Meeting. About the Paper Technology Foundation

Established in 1958, The Paper Technology Foundation enhances student education by offering mentoring, industry exposure, scholarships, internship assistance, co-ops and permanent placement for the globally recognized and respected WMU Paper Engineering Program offered by the Department of Chemical and Paper Engineering. Over the past 30 years, the foundation has awarded WMU students over $4.25 million in scholarships. The demand for paper engineers is extremely high because of the desire to manufacture responsibly with sustainable and renewable practices.
