Works by prominent artists on display at the Richmond Center
KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥擜 dynamic artists collective from the Dominican Republic, "Quintapata," is on display at the Monroe-Brown Gallery in Western 九一麻豆制片厂 University's Richmond Center for Visual Arts through Friday, Nov. 6.
"Quintapata" is the work of four internationally recognized artists from the Dominican Republic that includes Pascal Meccariello, Raquel Paiewonsky, Jorge Pineda and Belkis Ramirez. Each artist has exhibited throughout Europe and Latin America, and will produce a series of works individually, as well as re-creating their collaborative installation first exhibited at the 55th Venice Biennale in 2013.
Writer and cultural critic Rocio Aranda-Alvarado has written about the collective, "The work of Quintapata represents a questioning not only about the subject of art and its methodologies, but also about the very nature of art itself."
The works will cover a wide range of materials and techniques, from video and photography, sculpture, woodcut prints and drawing.

RCVA galleries are open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, and noon to 6 p.m. Saturday.
