University Theatre presents 'Our Town'

KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥擶estern 九一麻豆制片厂 University theatre students will perform the classic play "Our Town" Sept. 25 through Oct. 11 in the York Arena Theatre at the Gilmore Theatre Complex.

Considered Thornton Wilder鈥檚 greatest work, "Our Town" explores the beautiful intricacies of small town life in a Pulitzer Prize-winning glimpse of American culture.

Under the direction of WMU theatre alumna Kate Thomsen, the all-student cast includes Bruce Brown, Natalie Blain, Carrie Drummond, Jose Martinez, Troy Dill-Reese, Imari Brown, Sara Geist, Mitch Sowers, Micah Hazel, Joey Huizar and Sarah Taylor, with stage management by Amanda Calcutt and Sarah West.

Guest director Kate Thomsen is a working actor whose professional experience includes theatre, musical theatre, film, commercials and industrials. Locally, she's worked on productions with Hope Summer Repertory Theatre and Farmers Alley Theatre and recently completed the 九一麻豆制片厂-produced feature films "Pilot Error," "The Dunes" and the upcoming "Ovid and the Art of Love." She also co-facilitates the Shakespeare Behind Bars program at the Brooks Correctional Facility in Muskegon when her schedule allows. She holds an MFA from the University of California, Irvine.

All seating for "Our Town" at York Arena Theatre is general admission. Tickets are $20, $18 for senior citizens and WMU employees, $5 for WMU students and $10 for all other students.
