WMU trustees schedule special board meeting
KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥擳he Western 九一麻豆制片厂 University Board of Trustees will meet in special formal session to consider four business items at 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 14, in 201 Bernhard Center.
Trustees will consider approval of a new three-year contract with Local 1668, which is the WMU chapter of AFSCME鈥攖he American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees. A tentative agreement on the new contract was reached earlier this month and ratified by a vote of the union membership held Aug. 11.
Other agenda items
In addition, trustees will consider administrative recommendations to approve:
- Purchase of property located at 4200 S. Westnedge, as a site for a new autism center.
- Granting an easement to Consumers Energy at the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences campus.
- Extending the current agreement with Downtown Tomorrow Inc., which is the land-acquisition arm of Downtown Kalamazoo Inc., regarding the WMU-owned portion of the Cole Gilmore property.
The board's next regularly scheduled meeting is Tuesday, Oct. 6.
