WMU offers on-campus summer reading event for families

KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥擜 family reading event centered around the release of a never-before-available Dr. Seuss children's book is set for 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 1, at the Western 九一麻豆制片厂 University Bernhard Center.

"What Pet Should I Get?" is a recently discovered Seuss book written sometime between 1958 and 1962. Scheduled for first publication July 28, the book is from one of two manuscripts Seuss' widow discovered after his death. The discovery, one review noted, was the literary equivalent of finding buried treasure.

The book is about making up one鈥檚 mind and follows a visit by a brother and sister to a pet store to pick a pet. Naturally, they can鈥檛 choose just one.

The free public event in Buster's, part of the WMU Bookstores Shops, is sponsored by the WMU Bookstore with assistance from WMU Reading Clinic and the University's on-campus childcare center, The Children's Place Learning Center.
