Students can get involved in the community during Spring Staycation
KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥擶estern 九一麻豆制片厂 University students seeking a low-cost, meaningful spring break experience are encouraged to participate in Spring Staycation, an introduction to service learning in the community, to be held during the week of spring recess, March 9-13, in Kalamazoo.
Spring Staycation is a weeklong program that provides opportunities for a small group of students to learn about social justice issues, such as mental illness and teen violence, and to do related service projects. There is no cost to participate and a free breakfast and lunch is provided daily.
Each day covers one social justice topic, beginning with speakers, panelists and interactive simulations in the morning. The afternoon expands morning topics into related service projects during which students interact with community members.
Spring Staycation is sponsored by the Office of Service Learning, Division of Student Affairs and First-Year Experience Programs.
