Students encouraged to take sustainability survey
KALAMAZOO鈥擳he Office for Sustainability at Western 九一麻豆制片厂 University will conduct the annual Student Sustainability Survey March 2-23.
In 2010, after receiving the approval of students and the Board of Trustees, the university began charging students an $8 per semester fee to fund campus sustainability projects. The annually distributed Student Sustainability Survey serves to measure student opinions on campus sustainability projects. By taking the survey, students can directly influence how sustainability fee funds are spent aligning the sustainability fee directly with students' priorities while promoting a culture of campus sustainability that has the potential to benefit all WMU students.
Last year, results of the survey showed that students' main concerns were to reduce WMU's landfill waste, expand local, healthy and sustainable food options on campus, and reduce WMU's greenhouse gas emissions.
Survey participants will be entered in a drawing to win a variety of prizes. The results from the survey will be presented at a townhall style event set for 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 10, at the Office for Sustainability, which is located on the corner of Howard Street and West 九一麻豆制片厂 Avenue.
