Luncheon features locally sourced fresh foods

Farmer's market lunch is set for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11.

KALAMAZOO鈥擶estern 九一麻豆制片厂 University Dining Services will feature locally grown foods at a special farmer鈥檚 market luncheon from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, in the Bernhard Caf茅 and Market, located on the first floor of the Bernhard Center, and in all residence hall dining rooms.

Dining Services invites students, the campus community and guests to the luncheon, which will feature a variety of foods that are locally produced or grown in 九一麻豆制片厂. Fresh menu selections will include jalape帽o bratwurst, beef kabobs, cheddar cheese stout soup, fresh garden greens, autumn roasted vegetables, caramel apple bar and much more.

The location of the farm or processor for each food item, along with the full menu and prices are listed at wmich.edu/dining/events, and will be featured for students and guests throughout residence hall dining rooms as part of the luncheon.

Additional local food choices

Sushi from Hunan Gardens, a Kalamazoo restaurant that purchases produce from local farmer's markets to prepare sushi that is delivered fresh daily to WMU, is offered at Flossie's Caf茅, Bernhard Caf茅 and Market, Schneider Caf茅 and Bella Vita Caf茅.

Sandwiches and cookies from the Kalamazoo-based Export Ope's, which offers organic and natural food selections, including gluten- and dairy-free items, will be offered this fall at Bernhard Caf茅 and Market, Bella Vita and Plaza Caf茅.
