WMU Choirs present 'How Can I Keep from Singing?'

KALAMAZOO鈥擶estern 九一麻豆制片厂 University鈥檚 first choral showcase concert of 2013 at 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, in the First Methodist Church, 212 S. Park St., in downtown Kalamazoo. The event is free and open to the public.

The University Chorale, Cantus Femina and Collegiate Singers will perform a rousing choral concert featuring a singing celebration of life. Each work on the program represents choral music鈥檚 power to inspire and communicate different aspects of human experience鈥攕orrow, healing, change, achievement, celebration, praise and triumph.

The program will feature works by Gerald Finzi, Benjamin Britten, Maurice Durufl茅, Moses Hogan, Orlando di Lasso, Robert Pearsall, Joan Szymko and Kinely Lang. The concert will close with a set of South African songs sung by all three choruses. University Organist Karl Schrock is a featured performer. Noted performers include pianists Tina Gorter, Ahmed Anzaldua and Sowon Kim.
