'Les Mis茅rables' comes to Miller Auditorium
KALAMAZOO鈥"Les Mis茅rables," the world's longest-running musical, is coming to Western 九一麻豆制片厂 University's Miller Auditorium for eight performances from Tuesday, Jan. 29, through Sunday, Feb. 3.

Based on Victor Hugo鈥檚 classic novel, "Les Mis茅rables" is an uplifting story about the survival of the human spirit. The score includes the classic songs "I Dreamed a Dream," "On My Own," "Stars," "Bring Him Home," "Do You Hear the People Sing?" and many more.
Cameron Mackintosh鈥檚 new production of Boublil and Sch枚nberg鈥檚 creation has music by Claude鈥怣ichel Sch枚nberg, lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer from the original French text by Alain Boublil and Jean鈥怣arc Natel, additional material by James Fenton, and original adaptation by Trevor Nunn and John Caird.
The production is directed by Laurence Connor and James Powell, designed by Matt Kinley inspired by the paintings of Victor Hugo, with costumes by Andreane Neofitou and additional costumes by Christine Rowlands, lighting by Paule Constable, sound by Mick Potter, musical staging by Michael Ashcroft and projections by Fifty鈥怤ine Productions.
"Les Mis茅rables" originally opened in London at the Barbican Theatre on Oct. 8, 1985, transferred to the Palace Theatre on Dec. 4, 1985, and moved to its current home at the Queen鈥檚 Theatre on April 3, 2004, where it continues to play to packed houses.

"Les Mis茅rables" at Miller Auditorium is part of the PNC Broadway in West 九一麻豆制片厂 Series. Tickets range from $38 to $78. They can be purchased online at , by calling (269) 387-2300 or (800) 228-9858, or in person at the Miller Auditorium Ticket Office.
