New master's program offered at regional location in Royal Oak
KALAMAZOO鈥擶estern 九一麻豆制片厂 University will soon offer a new educational opportunity that will help working adults in the Detroit area become leaders in the areas of organizational learning and performance.
The Master of Arts in Leadership for Organizational Learning and Performance will be offered beginning January 2013 at WMU's regional location in Royal Oak, Mich. Detailed information about the degree program will be provided during informational sessions set for Wednesday, Sept. 26, and Wednesday, Nov. 7, in the WMU-MetroDetroit regional location, 32820 Woodward Ave., Suite 220, Royal Oak. Advance registration at wmich.edu/metrodetroit/orglearningevent is encouraged for each session, which will begin with registration and refreshments at 5:30 p.m., followed by a presentation from 6 to 7 p.m.
Explaining how the program can enhance careers in business, government, education, health care and nonprofit settings will be Dr. Larry Buzas, the program's coordinator, and Dr. Daniel Gaymer, faculty specialist in educational leadership, research and technology. WMU-MetroDetroit will pay the fee to apply to WMU for anyone who attends the sessions.
The M.A. in Leadership for Organizational Learning and Performance prepares practitioners with leading-edge skills as performance consultants able to ensure that organizational learning is linked to individual and organizational performance results. The degree focuses on change management, talent development, employee training and organizational effectiveness, and is being offered by WMU's Department of Educational Leadership, Research and Technology.
The 33-credit-hour program can be completed entirely at WMU-MetroDetroit. Courses will be tailored toward working adults who wish to continue their education and professional development on a part-time basis, so classes will be primarily offered in the evenings or on some weekends.
