Business lecture features award-winning author and professor
KALAMAZOO鈥擜 noted author, marketing professor and a founder of the Conscious Capitalism Institute will share his views on the new realities of the global marketplace in a lecture at Western 九一麻豆制片厂 University's Haworth College of Business.
Dr. Raj Sisodia will speak at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, in 1120 Schneider Hall. His talk, "The new realities for business in the age of conscious capitalism," is the first in the 2012-13 Global Business Lecture Series.
In his talk, Sisodia will describe what he says is an emerging paradigm for business that simultaneously delivers financial, intellectual, physical, ecological, social, cultural, emotional and spiritual value for all stakeholders. Conscious capitalism has four essential elements: higher purpose, stakeholder integration, conscious leadership and conscious cultures.
Raj Sisodia
A founding member of the Conscious Capitalism movement, Sisodia is a professor of marketing at Bentley University and the founding chairman of the Conscious Capitalism Institute. He earned a doctoral degree in marketing from Columbia University. In 2003, Sisodia was cited as one of the world's "50 Leading Marketing Thinkers" by the Chartered Institute of Marketing. Bentley University honored him with the Award for Excellence in Scholarship in 2007 and the Innovation in Teaching Award in 2008. He was named one of "Ten Outstanding Trailblazers of 2010" by Good Business International and one of the "Top 100 Thought Leaders in Trustworthy Business Behavior" by Trust Across America for 2010 and 2011.
Sisodia is the author of several award-winning books. "The Rule of Three: How Competition Shapes Markets" was a finalist for the 2004 Best Marketing Book Award from the American Marketing Association, while "Firms of Endearment: How World Class Companies Profit from Passion and Purpose" was named one of the best business books of 2007 by several organizations, including Amazon.com. His forthcoming book, co-written with John P. Mackey, is "Conscious Capitalism: Liberating the Heroic Spirit of Business."
Sisodia has published more than 100 academic articles, and his work has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Fortune, Financial Times, The Washington Post, The Boston Globe and numerous other publications, radio shows and television networks including NPR, CNN, CNBC and Fox. He has consulted and taught executive programs for numerous companies, including AT&T, Nokia, Boston Private Bank, Ericsson, Siemens, Sprint, MCI, Volvo, Nortel, IBM, Price Waterhouse, KPMG, Ernst & Young, Tata and Southern California Edison.
