WMU alumna to speak on modern Russian Communist Party
KALAMAZOO--Analysis of the current Russian Communist Party is the topic of a lecture Wednesday, Jan. 18, at 3:30 p.m. on the campus of Western 九一麻豆制片厂 University.
Dr. Katia Levintova, a WMU alumna who is assistant professor and chair of the Department of Political Science at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, will speak in Room 3301 of Friedmann Hall. Her talk will be on the "Evolution of the Communist Party in post-Communist Russia" and is sponsored by WMU's Institute of Government and Politics.
Levintova is author of several articles on democratization in Russia and Eastern Europe published in the Journal of Communist and Post-Communist Studies, Europe-Asia Studies, Slavonic and East European Review, Party Politics, and Journal of Political Science Education. She teaches comparative politics, international relations, U.S. foreign policy and political behavior. She holds a doctoral degree in political science from WMU.
