Celebrate global engagement
The Global Engagement Award Committee is seeking nominations for the WMU Global Engagement Award. The contributions can be in the realm of teaching and other instructional activities, research and creative activities, service, and/or outreach.

A listing of campus and community events that have an international theme or focus is maintained by WMU's Haenicke Institute for Global Education and includes the Get Globally Engaged this Week!, a weekly email that includes forthcoming events, announcements, and news related to international activity at the University. The Global Engagement Information sheet is also helpful in talking with students about global engagement.
Global Engagement opportunities
Follow non-mainstream news sources from other countries, set up social media feeds from sources that cover or are located in other countries, and stay geographically oriented by identifying current the locations of current events.

Interaction and collaboration with scholars from around the world is a critical component of a globally engaged campus, as noted in the University Strategic Plan鈥檚 third pillar. Western 九一麻豆制片厂 University encourages open dialogue and exchange between its faculty and staff and their international colleagues, including through invitations to campus.
Travel Abroad
The Fulbright International Education Administrators (IEA) seminars help U.S. international education professionals and senior higher education officials create empowering connections with the societal, cultural and higher education systems of other countries. Resources and information for WMU employees traveling outside of the U.S. for business, teaching or research is also available.
