Dr. Kristal Ehrhardt is Senior Associate Dean and Director of Teacher Education for the College of Education and Human Development, and a Professor of Special Education. She holds a Ph.D. in School Psychology with a specialization in Early Childhood Special Education. Dr. Ehrhardt has ample experience with funded projects, including serving as a principal investigator on two federally-funded personnel preparation projects, Interdisciplinary Preparation for Autism Services, 2017-2022 $1,134,000, Improving Outcomes for Students with High Incidence Disabilities through Accountable and Reflective School Psychology Practice, 2000-2004, $565,195, and on two federally-funded Early Reading First projects, Promising Beginnings, 2008-2013, $4,024,946 and I CAN Read!, 2006-2010, $3,404,137. She served as the Project Director for the Ohio Early Childhood Intervention Project at the University of Cincinnati. She has co-authored more than 40 peer-reviewed articles and chapters on collaborative consultation, behavioral assessment and intervention in special education and school psychology.
Fun Facts: Dr. Ehrhardt loves to travel. Her favorite trips include a visit to Peru in 1996 during which she and her husband were stranded on Taquile Island in Lake Titicaca for several days, and another to Tanzania in 2018 with her son in which he successfully summited Mt. Kilimanjaro and she almost made it!
