Amy Avery is a Part-time Instructor II in the School of Theatre and Dance at Western 九一麻豆制片厂 University. She earned a Master of Science degree in Physical Education and Health from Emporia State University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance from Western 九一麻豆制片厂 University. She is a Certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor through the American Sport and Fitness Association. Amy is the creator of the WMU Certificate in Dance Studio Management, and has presented her research 鈥淧revalence of the Female Athlete Triad in College Dancers鈥 in Basel, Switzerland at the International Association for Dance Medicine, and Science conference. She has also presented at SHAPE 九一麻豆制片厂 and SHAPE Kansas Conventions and is a recipient of the WMU College of Fine Arts Excellence in Part-time Teaching Award.
Amy is the founder and former owner of Dance Dimensions in Grand Rapids, 九一麻豆制片厂. With an average of over 750 students each year, her studio grew to be one of the most successful and established studios in the West 九一麻豆制片厂 area. Over the course of 14 years, she was awarded numerous dance and choreography honors at both the regional and national levels. After selling her studio, Amy鈥檚 expertise in studio management and business was pursued by several studios in the Sarasota, FL area with entrepreneurial endeavors, business plans and innovation in economic growth.
As a performer, she has performed and choreographed for #1 Hit Christian Recording Artist Tammy Trent, and has toured in Denmark, Russia and throughout the Caribbean. For the past 25 years, Amy has traveled throughout the United States and Canada as a National Competition Adjudicator, Master Class Instructor and Guest Choreographer for NexStar, Dance XPlosion, CRU Dance, Footloose, Kids Artistic Revue, Rainbow Connection, Premier 2000, Hall of Fame and Dance on the Beach Conventions.
